Topic:

Esthetic Outcomes for Smile Rehabilitation

Part 1. Anterior Veneer Restorations: Composite x Ceramic
Part 2. Periodontal surgical approaches for esthetic restorations

Course Description:

Part 1: This seminar reviews the smile analysis checklist and its literature evidence and
presents two case reports on smile reconstruction with different approaches. The first
presented case reports a direct resin-based composite veneer technique. It provides a
complete overview, from diagnostic to finishing and polishing procedures, highlighting the
multilayer/polychromatic composite placement. The second case shows a ceramic veneer smile
buildup, presenting the step-by-step clinical techniques. Afterwards, the seminar aims to
discuss each approach regarding its similarities, differences, advantages, and limitations.

Part 2: This lecture presents several clinical cases emphasizing the importance of properly
balancing the Zenith to achieve successful aesthetic rehabilitations. The focused approach is on
crown lengthening, which is a well-established procedure in Periodontal literature. Digital Smile
Design and other tools are utilized to ensure an ideal treatment plan and its predictable
execution. An unexplored technique using bone cement to manage lip position will also be
presented.
